I. RONNI KAPPOS FOREST GREEN PENDANT WITH BLUE DETAILS ON BROWN SILK
Ronni Kappos pieces are composed of vintage German glass, silk and silver. The glass comes from the famed, but long-defunct German glassworks in the Sudetenland region of Bohemia. The molds and chemical pigments used in prewar glass production from this region are no longer available, which is why so many of the shapes and hues are very unusual. These Tiffany quality glass beads are made with great care and craftsmanship. When the beads were being made, they were dipped in 24k gold and then shaved on each side to create the gold framing effect. Nothing was wasted; the gold that was shaved away was then recycled for more beads. Since these beads were made in the 1920’s and 1930’s, they are rare and highly collectable. This makes all of her designs limited editions.
