Renowned architect Alvar Aalto designed the Aalto collection initially for his entry for the Karhula-Iittala Glass Design Competition in 1936. Compared to the popular style of the time, the collection stood out – and continues to do so. The iconic 160 mm vase (also known as the Savoy vase) in a bright ultramarine blue is an interior item that stands out.
