Description

100 years ago, enamel bread bins were the preferred method for keeping bread fresh for a long time and preserving its wonderful flavors. This square, enamel bread bin is a new interpretation of a classic, with a timeless design which fits into and saves space in every modern kitchen.

The enamel material combined with the shape and function of the new bread bin keeps the bread fresh for a long time. The grooved base of the lower part of the container and the ventilation holes in the lid guarantee good ventilation and, in combination with the non-porous glass surface that prevents bacteria growth, stops mold from forming. The large handle on the lid makes the container easier to handle. Ventilation holes are located near the handle as well as on the bottom. Scratch resistant and aroma neutral.

Made In: Austria

This family-owned pan-forge business which has been in the Riess family for nine generations was founded in 1550 in Ybbsitz, Austria. Today it is known for its top quality enamel-ware, made in their carbon neutral facility using locally-generated hydro power along the Ybbs river. AMEICO introduces Riess in the US their classic designs from the 1920-1960s.

Riess uses a 40-step handmade process to make each enameled pot. Iron pots are pressed and stamped, and dipped in porcelain enamel, dried and fired at 850°C to be glass-fused. The result is long lasting, heat resistant up to 450°C, non-reactive, anti-bacterial, cut and scratch resistant.  Since Riess’s porcelain enamel is all natural, including the metal oxides used in the dyes, the entire item is metal-recyclable.
